THANEHOLD
About Thanehold

Ownership shapes what happens next.

The school where we learned. The club where we made friends. The community our parents call home. The workspace where an idea became a company.

Some of the most meaningful places in our lives are sustained by privately owned businesses.

Thanehold buys and grows businesses in senior living, private membership clubs, and schools and entrepreneurial campuses.

Our Vision

To help the places people return to thrive for generations.

Who We Are

Why we choose these businesses.

Residents, students and members rely on these businesses for services they return to regularly. We look for established organizations with capable teams and clear operating practices.

  1. 01 / Our Belief

    Communities matter.

We seek businesses that have earned a lasting place in people's lives.

  2. 02 / Our Responsibility

    Ownership matters.

We believe decisions should consider the people who depend on each business.

  3. 03 / Our Ambition

    Good businesses should keep growing.

We aim to strengthen their operations and support their continued development.

Our Name

Why Thanehold.

In Anglo-Saxon England and medieval Scotland, a thane held land granted by the crown, and was trusted to protect it, serve the people on it and pass it on in good order. A thanehold was what a thane kept.

We chose the name because it describes what we try to be: long-term keepers of businesses that communities depend on.

We buy businesses that bring people together.
